Morpeth Camera Club Meal Out - Wednesday 31st May 2017.

On Wednesday 31st May 2017, Morpeth Camera Club members met at The Parlour, a restaurant, coffee shop and
wedding venue situated in what was once a Blacksmiths Forge on the old A1 road at Blagdon.
The event which had originally been planned to mark Vince Rookers 50th year as a member of the Camera Club had
been put on hold following his sudden and unexpected death. A group decision was then taken to go ahead as a
celebration of, and as a tribute to, the memory of a man whose contribution to the club and the wider photographic
community was immeasurable.
On arrival we were shown to a rustic wooden building in the grounds, where inside decorated round tables provided a
welcoming first impression. Davy Bolam had set up an exhibition of Vinces work on the club display boards. A mix of
forty colour and monochrome prints, with subject matter that included Landscape, Still Life, Travel, Architecture and
People demonstrated how Vince was a respected and award winning photographer.
Throughout the night members enjoyed good food, company and conversation in pleasant surroundings, and chairman
Mark Harrison thanked those who had supported an evening that was slightly different to the usual club meetings.
